Roads in West Virginia fall under the Division of Highways which is an
executive branch appointed by the Governor. There are three levels
where highway concerns are addressed, one in Charleston, one in
Burlington and the local level in Martinsburg.

Martinsburg/Berkeley County
Berkeley Co Highway Department handles road maintenance including fixing
potholes, snow removal, cutting grass along the side of the roads.

for maintenance of Interstate 81 and his office phone is 267-0085.
Regional District 5 Burlington Highway Department
- Regional District 5 Burlington Highway Department handles placement of
signs, repaving roads and build new roads.

State Division of Highways
- State Division of Highways oversees and handles all major projects.

Cabinet Secretary of the Department of
Transportation which oversees the Division of Highways is Colonel
Richard W. Jemiola (558-0444). The Highway Commissioner is Samuel Beverage.
