Delegate John Overington is fighting to make state government accountable to the public and the taxpayers funding it. He is working for voter trust and participation in government through "Voters' Rights" where citizens can vote directly on issues they feel strongly about and can replace unresponsive elected officials.
Vote for Jobs - Higher paying, quality jobs by improving the business climate and state's economy so our children can stay in West Virginia. Fight spiraling tax increases - Cut waste in state government and get more efficient use of our tax dollars; Stop welfare abuse.	Ensure a better future - Improve our education system; Upgrade our roads and protect our environment; Keep choice in health care without a government bureaucracy. Fight Crime - Return the focus to the rights of law-abiding citizens, not the rights of criminals. Bring back capital punishment.

Accountability - was successful in changing rules so now all bills on passage are recorded votes (not voice votes).	Dog Fighting- made dog fighting a felony in West Virginia.
Pledge of Allegiance Law - to quarantee that each student has the voluntary right to begin the school day with the Pledge. Prisoner Work Bill - putting our inmates to work for the county or non-profit organizations. This law is saving local government thousands of dollars.	Veterans' License Plate Bill- to take off additional fees our veterans previously had to pay. Animal Cruelty Law - to protect cats and dogs with higher fines for cruelty cases. Wiretap legislation - to give our State Police a needed tool to go after drug dealers.
Delegate Overington is fighting for the taxpayers and to stop frivolous lawsuits. Delegate Overington has received the "Friend of the Taxpayers of West Virginia" certificate from Henry Thaxton, President of West Virginians Against Government Waste.
